Matching takes place for a child we are interested in adopting!

Time will tell….

March 2010

Now that the home study is completed, we were told we should inquire on a lot of children. It’s still a waiting process because you first wait for the child to be reviewed and once that is done then the agency  reviews your home study and if they think you might be a match for the child you’re given the child’s medical, psychological and family history.

It’s very heart breaking to hear how kids suffer physically and emotionally. The children I have read about are from age 6-12. These children are wishing for their forever family. It would be wonderful to see more people willing to adopt one child from the foster care system. If more couples adopted from the state it would help eliminate a lot of the issues we see today.

And the adoption story goes on. What child will we get matched with!?!

February 2010

We finally got the name search completed from the FBI. Our updated home study is completed. But now for the hard part. LOL Now it has to be approved and sit in another pile of papers.  :)

Update:  Finally! Our home study has been approved! Tom and I have decided to look only in Florida for adopting a child because of the fantastic benefits. In addition, the case workers prefer the children have a slow transition and the process can go slowly. Hence we have decided to only look here.

Tom and I are praying for the right child. We have been looking from age 6  to age 12 with no medical issues. I have submitted interest in about a dozen children throughout the state.

Next is the wait to see if any of the case workers feel we are the right match for the children. We are praying God will not allow us to get something we can not handle but someone we can help and love in addition to being a blessing to our family.

January 2010

As we begin the process of adoption, the home study and fingerprints need to be done again since the last time it was completed was in 2007.

I found several children we are interested in.  Ranging from 6-10 years old, boys and girls, in state and out of state. Time will tell. I have to remind myself that God is in control. If God wants this to happen, I know it will. He knows which child we could help the most and who would also be a blessing to us. If adopting wasn’t meant for us, I don’t want anything to develop. We are praying and trusting Him for wisdom, guidance and direction.

Sure is hard to wait month after month….wondering what will happen.
